Closed loop filtration and polishing system for ACC flushing
Our customer is one of the world’s leading power plant construction contractors. They constructed a 44 MWe Biomass Power Generation Plant on behalf of a UK-based power plant. This entire project harnesses energy from sustainable resources and operates as carbon-neutral.
Mobile Water Solutions received a request from an engineering house to clean their steam lines before commissioning the power plant, employing the Steam Blowing process. Additionally, the client was utilizing Air air-cooled condensers (ACC) that had accumulated debris during fabrication. The client also sought a closed-loop filtration and polishing system for ACC flushing, along with temporary deionization for the steam blows. The use of a mobile solution ensured minimal water wastage and significant cost reduction.

Steam Blowing: Commissioning power plants requires ensuring that steam lines are free from particulate matter to prevent damage to steam turbines. This is achieved through ‘steam blows,’ where steam generated in the boilers is released into the atmosphere at high flow rates and velocities, effectively purging particulate matter from the steam lines. The loss of steam during this process often exceeds the capacity of the installed deionizing plant to replenish, making it common practice to utilize mobile deionizing units.
Boiler Flush & Fill: Our customer also utilized air-cooled condensers (ACCs) to condense steam exiting the steam turbines. Due to their delicate structure, these ACCs required a 24-hour flushing at a high flow rate. To minimize water and energy waste, Mobile Water Solutions proposed a solution incorporating Skid Pumps, MOFI filters, and standby units for seamless ‘swap-outs’ as needed, all without interrupting the system’s flow.
